At 23, I completed my master’s degree in Earth Sciences, fully set on beginning a research career. Right after graduating, I traveled to Australia for fieldwork, planning to return home and start my PhD. But life had a different plan waiting for me.
Once my research work was done, I decided to explore a little longer—and that “little” turned into a full adventure across Australia, New Zealand, and then India. Somewhere between mountains, deserts, and crowded streets, I realized my passion wasn’t buried in scientific papers—it was out there in the world.
So I stepped away from the PhD path and chose to continue exploring. Within a few months, I found myself in Indonesia with almost no money left, but with a mind full of clarity. I flew back to Australia, worked as an exploration geologist to rebuild my savings, and kept chasing the road that truly felt like mine.
That decision changed everything—and my adventure hasn’t stopped since.
